Here in Wales we have been deluged by rainfall the last week. Plans we made with friends for a beach walk on New Year’s day had to be postponed.
Today we woke up to a fairly mild day so seized the chance to go for a family walk to our local reservoir. It’s about 10 minutes away from where we live and is a gentle walk to ease back in to some form of exercise.
We have had a totally relaxing Christmas holidays but I didn’t realise how much cabin fever I was feeling until we got outside in the fresh air.
Walking is one of our favourite family things to do. It’s free, great exercise for all of us and gives us all the opportunity to take our square eyes and concentration off of whatever screens we’ve been fixating on.
The above picture was taken at the beginning of our walk. I love the Winter blossom and colours. When we walk this time of year and onwards I eagerly look out for signs of Spring and new life.
Signs of hope I suppose. Verdant growth, new buds peeping their way through the soil.
I am hopeful for this year. Hope would be my word of choice if I had to pick just one. Hope for new life in every area of mine and ours lives.
Till next time.
