I don’t care that Prince Harry has broken up with his girlfriend of 2 years, although I’m sure it’s sad for them.
What does concern me is the 234 girls who were abducted from a school in Nigeria in the middle of the night 2 weeks ago.
And what really saddens me is that the first piece of gossip made the news and was mentioned on the radio and the 2nd very distressing item of news has barely been mentioned.
What does this say about us and our society? Do we have no sense of compassion?
It’s awful to think what the mother’s of these girls must be going through.
The girls aged between 16-18 were abducted from their school in Chibok, Nigeria in the middle of the night. They were preparing for their final exams. They have been abducted simply because they went to school. It is thought that a Jihadist network are responsible for the kidnappings although no group has directly claimed responsibility for them. Their name translates to “Western education is forbidden” and they are vehemently against anything that goes against strict Islamic texts such as the water cycle and a spherical Earth. They are known to have been involved in violent assaults before.
Thanks to the vigilance and quick thinking of the parents 43 of the girls have been recovered.
The rest of the girls are still missing despite statements to the contrary by the Ministry of defence. The best case scenario would be that they have been sold into servitude and are still alive.
Please pray for their safe keeping and safe return, for their parents and families at this time. Please also do what you can to share this story by tagging social media #BringBackOurDaughters.
This should not go unreported by the media and news outlets. Let’s all do what we can to keep bringing it to people’s attentions.
